The Best Friend Library in Mae Sot offers regular free English, Thai and computer classes for everyone who is interested.
Recently we added a mobile computer course for the factory workers in the Mae Sot area. On the pictures you can see Ashin Kovida giving a free English course, a Thai language class and a mobile computer class at our library in Mae Sot. After the factory was closed we could bring them to our library to learn how to use the internet.
It is our main belief, that education can open up people’s ears and eyes and is THE way to eradicate poverty. In this way our libraries are places, where people can meet and discuss Burma-related issues openly and freely. Places to become more educated, aware and active in the struggle for peace and freedom in Burma.
