The Best Friend Library – Mae Sot is a library and information center operated completely through the efforts of volunteers and donations from supporters. It is a hotspot for Burmese migrants, refugees and interested people from all over the world who come here to learn more about the situation of Burmese migrants and Burma.
It offers books, research reports, news magazines, films and other materials about Burma in English, as well as books in Burmese and Burmese-minority languages. The library is also a place where people can meet and discuss Burma-related issues openly and freely.
The library in Mae Sot also offers daily free English and computer classes and free internet access. It is located in the centre of Mae Sot with its busy market.
